Hopi Ear Candles are cotton tubes soaked in beeswax, honey and herbs. The candle acts in the same way as a chimney when lit, when the warm air inside the candle rises, creates a vacuum, and allows for the removal of excess ear wax and impurities.
The Hopi Ear Candle treatment will be carried out in my relaxing home studio – I will ask you to lie in a comfortable position and your head will be supported by a pillow. A small cotton towel or flannel should cover the hair.
A lit candle is then inserted into your outer ear and the flame is allowed to burn down to within a short distance of a marked line. The candle is then gently removed and extinguished before I perform a draining massage around the ear and neck area. The procedure is then repeated on the other ear, followed by a gentle drainage massage on the face.
After the treatment I will offer you water to drink, and encourage you to remain laying still for around 10-15 minutes before standing up.
Hopi candles can be used to treat a range of conditions including deafness caused by excess wax, blocked sinuses, ear irritation, ringing in the ears, tinnitus, rhinitis, glue ear, colds, flu, headaches, and migraines. The Hopi Ear Candle treatment is so gentle, they are especially suitable for treating children.
